What are your opening hours?

Can I pre-purchase a burial plot or ash interment space?
Yes. Many families choose to pre-purchase as it allows you to make an important decision in your own time, and it can be a real comfort to your family later. Our team will guide you through the options and help you choose the location that feels right.
Are you multi-denominational?
Yes. Kilternan Cemetery Park is multi-denominational, welcoming all faiths and also humanist services.
Do you have an office for enquiries?
Yes. We have an on-site office open six days a week for enquiries. If you are planning a visit and would like to meet someone, a quick call ahead is always welcome.
Do you hold funerals on weekends and bank holidays?
Yes. We facilitate funerals and ash interments on weekends and bank holidays when required.
Can the headstone be erected before the funeral?
Yes we are one of Irelands only cemeteries that provide this service. We will erect a headstone and a temporary inscription with the name in advance of the funeral according to your needs. The permanent inscription can be completed later, when the family is ready.
Can we hold a ceremony at the graveside?
Yes. Families may hold a graveside ceremony, and we welcome religious, civil, or humanist services.
Can I connect to the PA system and play music during the funeral service?
Yes. You can connect by Bluetooth and play music at the graveside if you wish.
Can inscriptions be in another language?
Yes. We can inscribe headstones in other languages, including non-Latin characters (for example, Chinese).
Do you accept card payments?
Yes. We accept cheque, cash and card, and we will always explain the options clearly.
Can you arrange re-interments from other cemeteries?
Yes. Re-interments can be arranged. Our team will guide you through the process and the practical requirements.
Are there lights on at night?
Yes. Lighting is sensor-based and comes on automatically when it gets dark.
Are flowers allowed?
Yes, fresh flowers are welcome. To maintain the overall standard of the park, plastic flowers are not permitted.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. Dogs are welcome, provided they are supervised and owners clean up after them.
When will grass be reinstated on a grave?
We reinstate grass once the ground has settled, and weather conditions allow, so the finish is neat and lasting.
